Grocery Shopping Day

January 15th, 2007 at 04:17 am

So my budget is $100.00 per week for groceries to feed a family of 5. I haven’t hit this goal in weeks! Today I went out with my eldest DD and spent $110.70. At least I am getting closer and truth be told I probably would have hit my goal had she not been with me. Now that I have three kids I try to spend alone time with DD#1 as much as possible.

My plan is to come under budget and put whatever money I have leftover into the challenge. I use the Grocery Game and my total came to $236.18 so I saved $125.48…not bad especially since I buy things that are not on the list.

I've been thinking about trying the grocery game... I've just started using coupons and looking at sales ads. I've read about it online, and it seems it's pretty similar to that... At any rate, enjoy the time with DD! And fret not, you're saving a ton!

Well, you can in pretty close! Just a few tweaks here and there and you'll be within budget before you know it!

The Grocery Game is a subsription service that tracks the sales fo groceries and compares the sales to available coupons. The service then lets you know when the best price for that item is available. Also their chat forums are great. For more info go to www.thegrocerygame.com
